Grup Boix begins construction work on the new cross-laminated timber (CLT) panel factory in Puig-reig. This project, pioneering in terms of technology and industrial digitalisation, represents a significant step forward for the company and for the sustainable construction industry in the Berguedà region.
Joan Boix, CEO of Grup Boix, highlights the importance of this project for the creation of workplaces and for the promotion of sustainability in the construction sector.
The new factory, which is expected to be operational by the end of the year, will produce CLT panels, a material that is revolutionising the construction sector thanks to its structural properties, energy efficiency and sustainability. CLT allows for faster construction with less building work.
Josep Ferrer, Industrial Engineer and Head of the CLT Project, explains the technological investment as a commitment to quality and value focused on the final product. “The production plant will be equipped with cutting-edge technology to ensure that the final product guarantees the highest quality according to European standards,” says Ferrer.
This project not only reinforces Grup Boix’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, but also places Puig-reig on the map as a reference centre in the production of advanced construction materials.
