The European Parliament’s Jordi Solé congratulates Grup Boix for its innovative and sustainable use of CLT wood

During the visit of the ERC Member of the European Parliament to the Berguedà region, the first stop was at the headquarters of Grup Boix. Solé observed first-hand the operation of the Saltet production plant (Puig-reig) and at the same time, he was also able to see the new Grup Boix project with CLT (Cross Laminated Timber).

Grup Boix’s commitment to developing CLT allows the construction sector to use sustainable and environmentally friendly materials.

Solé believes that wood must be put to uses with greater added value than biomass. However, the MEP points out that the Berguedà region must play a “very active” role in the European forestry strategy to add value to wood.
